Understanding Boat Racing
Boat racing is one of a kind of sports where boats are used for racing in water. The boats are driven by oars, mostly wooden with flat blades at one end. Other side is grasped by oarsmen to drive the boat. There are different types of boat racing depending upon the type of boat involved in race. Races can be Man-powered, sail powered and Motorboat racing. Man Powered racing includes Canoe Racing; where athletes race canoes or kayaks on calm water,Dragon Boat Racing; where each member of team uses oars for racing ,Kayak Racing; where paddler is sited in the direction of travel and uses double-bladed paddle ,Outrigger Canoe Racing; type of Canoe racing only but the difference is of outriggers which are fastened on one or both sides and Rowing: where participants race against each other on rivers, on lakes or on the ocean.Sail Powered includes Team Racing is one of the form of Yacht racing and Yacht Racing; where sailboats race in variety of forms with their large yachts .Last but not the least is Motorboat Racing which includes Drag Boat Racing ;as the name suggests boats are dragged on water instead of land, Hydroplane Racing; where hydroplanes are involved in racing on lakes and rivers ,JetSprint Racing; where jet boats with two members each are involved in racing through twisted channels , Offshore Power Boat Racing ;this is basically a point to point race where large powered boats are used and racing is done in ocean.
